Taking
your dog hiking with you is a wonderful idea,
but you should always be prepared incase of
injury!
Benadryl (25 mg tablets) - the dose is 1
mg per 1 lb.
*for facial swelling or hives from bug bites or bee stings
Aspirin (NO Tylenol, NO Advil) - dose is 5
mg per lb for acute lameness or
pain/inflammation
Hand towels and/or face cloth - good for
bleeding
Medical tape or Vet wrap
Extra bottled water - to drink or flush
wounds
Ice
Pack(s) - good for acute swelling/injuries
Gauze squares
Peroxide - good for initial cleansing of
wounds
Triple Antibiotic Ointment
Treats
Bowl
Hemostats - good for removing ticks or
splinters
