Hospital - Pet Policies

Safety - For the safety of all our patients in or on the hospital premises, we ask that all dogs are on a leash and cats placed safely in a carrier.

If we find any signs of fleas on a hospitalized pet, we will apply a flee preventative at an additional cost to the pet owner.

Vaccination Requirements - We do require that vaccinations (Rabies and Distemper) be up-to-date on hospitalized patients.

Hospitalized Pets - Sick or hospitalized pets are evaluated and treated every morning at 8am, so we ask that you please call after 9am for an updated progress report.

Hospitalized Pet Visits - We do allow visitation time with your hospitalized pet, but prefer to keep visits to a minimum to decrease stress and excitement on your pet. We ask that you do call prior to visiting with your pet.

Surgery & Anesthesia

Pets scheduled for surgery or other procedures requiring anesthesia are usually admitted the morning of the procedure. We ask that they not be fed breakfast and we recommend with-holding food after 12 midnight the night before surgery, free, access to water is fine for your pet to have.

We also offer pre-anesthetic blood work to all our patients. It is highly recommended for patients over 7-years of age. Most patients will be discharged the same day as their surgical procedure; however, some patients must stay a night or two for post-operative care.
